Japanz became as a result of people wanting to get access to parts from Japan at affordable prices. We’ve been long supporting the “grey import” community for Elgrand, Estima or Delica parts and we decided to expand due to high demand and customer satisfaction.

Our story with car parts began during Covid. We moved from Australia to Japan where our family business is car dealership for the Japanese market for the last 40 years.

Having access to all the car auction houses, wreckers across Japan and good friendship with some of the local garages/shops, we decided to offer car parts services to some of our friends in Australia.

What started as a one or two parts, it became more of a daily challenge to find the right part and at an affordable price of course for some of our friends. Soon after, word-of-mouth promotion helped bring even more people who are looking for certain products that are either at very inflated prices in Australia or you can’t find them at all.

Fast forward, the Covid situation ended and we were able to come back to Australia but inquiries for parts never stopped. It was more than just requests from friends and after a lengthily discussion, we decided to turn this into a more sustainable solution where people can buy directly from Japanese car parts shops, vendors or sellers.

But you may say, this already exists via various proxies.

Our approach is quite simple – direct access and cheaper prices.

Our goal is to start with new car parts in the first few months and then expand the catalogue with access to some of the wrecking garages we have exclusive access to.

While in Japan, we were heavily involved in car meetups and this is something we plan to encourage or organise in Australia as well.
